INFORMATION FOR ARTISTS

Skipton Gallery is always happy to meet new artists and look at exhibiting new works.  Please feel free to contact the gallery director to discuss exhibition space.  Skipton Gallery still has spaces available for solo or group exhibitions during 2013 and bookings have begun for 2014.  There is no charge to exhibit at the Gallery..  Free exhibition space for artists is always available but we do ask fo a small donation towards food, wine and publicity for the opening night (usually about $100).  This cost depends on the level of publicity the artist requires.

 

 

CONSIGNMENT OF ARTWORKS


This document constitutes a valid agreement between Skipton Art Gallery and the exhibiting artist during the exhibition period.


  1. Skipton Art Gallery agrees to promote and exhibit the artist's work in a favourable manner and to extend all reasonable assistance to the artist in pursuit of this goal.

  2. Skipton Art Gallery agrees to exhibit and promote the artist's work for a 6 week period unless the artwork is sold or timeline renegotiated between artist and gallery.

  3. Skipton Art Gallery agrees to take all reasonable steps to ensure that the artist's work is not damaged, destroyed or stolen during the exhibition and promotion of the work.

  4. Skipton Art Gallery will add 20% commission to the artist's asking price and there will be no other charges to the artist.

  5. Skipton Art Gallery retains the right to refuse any artwork considered unsuitable for this gallery.

  6. The artist agrees to deliver and collect artworks on the dates outlined in this document unless other arrangements have been agreed to by both parties prior to the proposed dates.

  7. The artist agrees that any insurance taken out on these artworks during the time of exhibition is to be arranged by and paid for by the artist.

  8. The artist agrees to allow likenesses of the artworks to be placed on the gallery website and in promotional material.

  9. After final payment is received on an artwork monies will be forwarded to the artist in the first week of the next month.
